Getting in and out of the site editor is straightforward once you know the two main entry points for block theme development.
From the frontend, click “Edit Site” and you’ll jump directly into template editing mode for whatever page you’re viewing. This contextual entry is perfect when you want to edit a specific template.
From the dashboard, go to Appearance > Editor to land on the site editor’s main screen. From here, you can navigate to any of the site editor’s features or click into template editing for your homepage.
Exiting depends on where you are. If you’re in a sub-section like template editing, click the back arrow to open navigation, then click again to return to the dashboard. From the main site editor screen, click the back arrow or the WordPress logo to get back to your dashboard.
