The site editor provides two methods for creating template parts: insert a template part block and choose “start blank” with a custom name, or build content first then convert it to a template part using the block options menu.
When creating template parts, you can set the title, assign it to an area (header, footer, general, or custom), choose the HTML tag wrapper, and add CSS classes. Focus mode lets you edit template parts in isolation.
Template parts created through the site editor need to be saved and the editor reloaded before they appear in the block inserter. This refresh ensures the new blocks are properly registered.
Both approaches give you full control over template part structure and settings while maintaining the visual editing experience throughout the creation process.
