Exporting template from site editor

Templates created through the site editor live in the database initially, indicated by user attribution and delete options in the template management interface. To make them permanent theme assets, you need to export them.

The Create Block Theme plugin streamlines this process – just click “Save Changes” from any template editing view to export all site editor changes back to theme files while clearing database customizations.

After export, templates appear in your theme’s templates directory as standard HTML files, identical to manually created templates. The template management interface updates to show them as theme templates rather than user creations.

This workflow combines the visual ease of site editor creation with the permanence and version control benefits of file-based themes – you get both convenience and professional development practices.
